The
Daily Details
Food: Huckleberry
Cheesecake provides a hot nutritious meal for your child at lunch
and two snacks throughout the course of the day. We not only meet
the nutritional guidelines set by the USDA and the D.C. licensing
standards but most often exceed them. Great importance is placed
on providing healthy food and limiting salt, sugar, preservatives,
and artificial color additives. Fresh fruit and vegetables, whole
grain breads, and low-fat dairy products are used in planning meals.
If your child has special dietary requirements other arrangements
can be made. Menus are posted monthly on the parent bulletin board
outside the office. Click here for a sample
menu.
Clothing: Each
child at Huckleberry Cheesecake has his/her own cubby for their
personal belongings. Everything your child wears and brings to the
center must be labeled. Toddlers and preschoolers should have a
complete change of clothes in her/his cubby at all times. Infants
should have two complete changes. Clothes and linens soiled at the
center will be sent home. We require that blankets and sheets be
taken home every Friday to be laundered. Please check your child's
clothes regularly to make sure your child has a change of clothes,
and that they are seasonally appropriate.
